Dining Room

My mom was in town to visit for a week so I got to do a little shopping. Actually we went halfers on the clock and shelf and the bracelet is the only thing I bought myself.
So this is the state of my dining room at the moment. It needs paint but is slowly coming together with the Hey-Wake table, starburst clock and curtains. I didnt take multiple views of the room simply because half of the table is filled with arts and craft projects my son and I do together. I could have cleaned it all up but eh Im lazy and busy. Also the elephant in the room (tv on the floor) is my husbands doing. He wants one in there and he pays the bills so what can I say? I havent found anything to put it on yet so on the floor it stays.

Here is a closer view of the curtains.

Im not sure I prefer this shelf/towel rack up this high but the bathroom seems so bare. I need a place for some pretties that my son cant reach. Im undecided about it, what do you all think?

A shot of the clock..

The bracelet I got for $10. I dont think its bakelite. Im not sure what it is honestly. It doesnt have a seam like bakelite bracelets yet theres no smell when rubbed or put under hot water. It has this glossy mod-podge stuff over it so that could be why. Im not sure what it is but I love the color and the carving and Im getting obsessed with vintage bracelets right now so I made it mine.

My Big Excitement

My husband and I have been talking (read: complaining) about how small our table is. I brought it into the relationship and I was single when I bought it and it only seats 4, but not even very comfortably. So Ive been looking for one that we both agree on that we can afford, which isnt easy. This past weekend we headed to Nashville to waste some time browsing around at the antique malls. Down the first row of booths I spotted this.

Yes, a Heywood Wakefield table with 6 chairs! Amazingly I almost walked right past it. (Those with kids should know what I mean. Holding and soothing one, and trying to keep your eye on the other that wants to be independent and not hold hands.) I didnt walk past it though. I stopped my hubs and we had a lengthy discussion about if we could afford it and if we could, should we buy it. It was priced at $500 and we talked them down to $400. Im happy to say its currently on layaway and we will pick it up later this month! Needless to say, I will either be selling clothes and other assorted items to offset this purchase and/or selling the table we currently have. I almost want to keep it to use it for crafting but I could always buy a cheap card table for that. Plus, when do I ever have time for crafting! Pretty much never. I feel a little bad for buying something during a time we really cant afford it, but by the time we saved up for it, lets face it, that table would be gone. What do you think? Did I make a good decision?
