A Very Vintage Book

To-day's Stories Of Yesterday - edited and pictured by Frances Kerr Cook (copyright 1925). I have had this book ever since I can remember. Some of the pages have become brittle and have fallen out but I have managed to keep them together and covet this book. My favorite story has always been "How the Tulips Came to Have Bright Colors" because its about baby pixies using the tulips as cradles. I have no clue how I aquired this book and when I googled it nothing came up. Someone out there in vintage bloggerland has to know something about this book!

Nothing New.

Not much has changed since my last update, except Im more tired and the kids are a growin'! Its been almost 3 and a half months since my mom was last here to visit and seriously..Im losing my mind! I need a break so very bad. She gets here early Saturday morning and by Saturday afternoon I predict that Im locked in the bathroom taking a bubble bath while reading a book. My lil man is 2 and a half and the princess is coming up on 10 months soon. TEN MONTHS! It doesnt seem that long ago that we brought her home from the hospital *sniff sniff*. Anyways, I havent really gotten a chance to buy anything, although I still have a few things Ive been meaning to take photos of for a long time now. So since I enjoy blogs with pictures and equally enjoy showing off what good lookin kids I make, heres some pics..

Taken a few months ago in the fall.

First Halloween.

Wish mama had lashes like that.

This is a very old one because lately my son has become really hard to get a good pic of, plus hes so darn cute here.

Also taken a few months back in the fall.

There you have it. Also a big thanks to the new followers! XO!

An award, 9 followers and some news!

Wow. I havent posted in over a month and in that time La Dama from Vintage Passions Just Like Mine gave me this award!

Probably undeserving but mucho appreciated. Thank you!
Also Im thinking maybe I need to walk away more often because I gained 9 followers without blogging a thing!
On to the news.. here goes.. the stress I was feeling about my son was due to waiting on referrals and appointments for evaluations. Evaluations for autism. Although Im still not 100% convinced in my heart Im happy to say the developmental pediatrician does not think he is autistic. He does have a speech delay and hes been in early intervention since July and has recently got into speech therapy. He has been progressing really well, especially since Daddy deployed, which is strange because I thought since it was just us everyday he would regress more but thankfully he hasnt. Thanks to all who has stuck with my blog. Your support is sincerely appreciated.
P.S I finally joined Facebook! haha! Yes..I gave in.

Busy Bad Blogger Deployment Blues

I have been gone FOREVER in the blogger world. Yes I know. We are 45 days into the deployment and Im exhausted between being mommy, daddy, and everything in between. At some point I may explain further why Im not around much anymore, but today isnt the day. Besides the deployment Im also dealing with some stuff about my son and Im stressed beyond belief. Ill be around so dont stop following! I just may not be around as often as before. Hope ya understand.

Dining Room

My mom was in town to visit for a week so I got to do a little shopping. Actually we went halfers on the clock and shelf and the bracelet is the only thing I bought myself.
So this is the state of my dining room at the moment. It needs paint but is slowly coming together with the Hey-Wake table, starburst clock and curtains. I didnt take multiple views of the room simply because half of the table is filled with arts and craft projects my son and I do together. I could have cleaned it all up but eh Im lazy and busy. Also the elephant in the room (tv on the floor) is my husbands doing. He wants one in there and he pays the bills so what can I say? I havent found anything to put it on yet so on the floor it stays.

Here is a closer view of the curtains.

Im not sure I prefer this shelf/towel rack up this high but the bathroom seems so bare. I need a place for some pretties that my son cant reach. Im undecided about it, what do you all think?

A shot of the clock..

The bracelet I got for $10. I dont think its bakelite. Im not sure what it is honestly. It doesnt have a seam like bakelite bracelets yet theres no smell when rubbed or put under hot water. It has this glossy mod-podge stuff over it so that could be why. Im not sure what it is but I love the color and the carving and Im getting obsessed with vintage bracelets right now so I made it mine.

Stuck on you.

A while back I mentioned having a giveaway at 100 followers and ever since then I have been stuck on 80 followers! Of course I dont want followers for the sake of followers, but you get my gripe.

In other news, my mom came to stay for a week. Unfortunately I didnt get to use those nifty transfers. We were far too busy with normal catching up and shopping. Silly me actually thought we would also paint the dining room. Ha! Anyways, I did get a few things that I will be sharing as soon as I get a chance to take some photos.
