The Ones That Got Away

If you are anything like me I have a gazillion favorite things on Etsy. I try to keep it around 7 or 8 pages and no more. One of my OCD features. I delete sold things generally, or once in a blue moon I change my mind about an item. Sometimes I covet things FOREVER lusting after them waiting for that special moment when I have enough money to make it mine. It GUTS me whenever I see one of my favorites has been sold. Dont get me wrong. Im happy for the seller. I really am. Im just crushed that I couldnt have been the sale. These are the things I loved so much I cant even delete them from my favorites. Some of these things were sold the DAY I got the funds to buy them. These are the ones that got away.

A Very Vintage Book

To-day's Stories Of Yesterday - edited and pictured by Frances Kerr Cook (copyright 1925). I have had this book ever since I can remember. Some of the pages have become brittle and have fallen out but I have managed to keep them together and covet this book. My favorite story has always been "How the Tulips Came to Have Bright Colors" because its about baby pixies using the tulips as cradles. I have no clue how I aquired this book and when I googled it nothing came up. Someone out there in vintage bloggerland has to know something about this book!

A Day Out

Over the weekend we decided to venture down to Nashville to visit some of the antique malls. There are a few small ones in Clarksville but the ones in Nashville are alot closer to Heaven! So many things caught my fancy but my budget to spend cashola on myself is small. Not to mention as a mother of two I feel a tad guilty when spending money on myself, so not surprisingly I purchased this pink hamper.





More of a family purchase than a personal one. Four people make for alot of dirty clothes! Im happy nonetheless because it should go nicely in the pink bathroom of the house we are trying to buy. (Inspection is this Saturday and Im hopeful there wont be much to fix. It was built in 1958 but alot has been updated in the past few years like electrical, A/C etc so we'll see). I also spotted this Mar-shel handbag.





I like it not only for the pattern but also because the handle folds down and turns it into a clutch! Needless to say I cant wait to go back but it will have to wait a while because here is a list of my life the next few weeks: my birthday, getting a wisdom tooth pulled, house inspection, pictures, Jump Zone, my sons birthday, doctor appointments, my husband leaving for JRTC for a month. I think thats it for now..

A great big welcome to my friends that I already know and an even bigger welcome to new friends stopping by. I may be biting off more than I can chew here, Ill be honest. I have a 21 month old son and am expecting our daughter in less than 3 weeks! I have tons of blogs archived at Myspace and you know I will be pulling from those if need be. If youve dropped by and dont know me Im a stay at home mama and housegirlfriend (soon to be Army wifey) currently living in Clarksville TN. I enjoy vintage finds and bargains in general and my perfect day would be filled with thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales and browsing etsy with no spending limit! Obviously thats a dream world so I try to save money any way I can for my family and Im looking for other like minded gals & mamas to share ideas with.
